Music Smothered At STEM School, Goodbye SB Union

Posted by Lauren Fetter on December 4, 2015 in WUSB In Focus | 45 Views | Leave a response

Julio and Justin sat down with JD and Mike Gusev from RockYoFace to discuss the Stony Brook Union’s future — specifically that of the UCafe. What will happen to the venue while the union is being renovated? Stony Brook University is STEM-based, focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Because of this, the arts suffer on campus. How can students keep the arts alive when the UCafe loses its space in the union?

Special thanks to Julio Avila, a.k.a. the deep voice you hear, but don’t see, echoing through the Union basement, WUSB Music Director Mike Gusev, our eager new engineer Dave Donovan, JD Allen for production, our Executive Producer Lauren Fetter, music man Justin Cole and our guest: the rocking Mike Gusev.
