The winner goes on to play for the America East Championship, the loser goes home. Fans fill the stands with their red shirts to show off their swagger (one of the catch phrases Stony Brook promotes) and cheer on their team. |

Muhammad El-Amin was named the America East Player of the Year; Head Coach Steve Pikiell was named Coach of the Year; Andrew Goba was named to the all-academic team; and, Tommy Brenton and Bryan Dougher were named to the conference’s second team. |

The quarterfinal round on the women's side is complete. Stony Brook ended the day by defeating Binghamton, 71-60. Before that, Hartford cruised past New Hampshire by a score of 68-35; Boston University got past UMBC, 60-48; and, Vermont toppled Albany, 61-36. |

The America East's men's basketball season has come to a close and the conference tournament kicks off Saturday at Hartford. On March 5, the America East will name their All-Conference teams, players and coach of the year. A select few at the Independent have gathered together and hand-picked who they think should be awarded for their efforts on the basketball court. |

The first place Seawolves take on the Black Bears of Maine tonight in America East action. Point guard Bryan Dougher has found himself in a similar shooting slump to last year's, and looks to snap out of his minor funk. The men's basketball game will be played at 7:00 P.M. in Pritchard Gymnasium. |
