Letter to the Editor

Do we still have student reporters on campus? I beg to differ.

A release from USG regarding the court ruling on the elections.

I have always been an advocate for how great of a school Stony Brook is and how much I enjoy it, but as this year has gone on I cannot help but think our generation of students is getting shafted.

Now that the constitution has failed, it is important for students to know what they missed

At the September 27th meeting of the USG Senate, as several club officers were still in line waiting to express their displeasure with the newly proposed off-campus travel policy which would force clubs to fundraise 15% of their off-campus travel costs,

Sen. Antonelli

Senator and President-Elect Joseph Antonelli apologizes for what some called a hasty adjournment of Tuesday's Senate meeting.

Never before have I been witness to such a blatantly fragrant act of arrogance and hubris from an elected body, which having been dissatisfied with mild criticism from their constituents, decided instead to put their proverbial fingers in their ears and scream “la la la la la la.” These Senators are all given the option of being paid for their services, an opportunity that most Senators take, and it is shameful that they would not do their duty of listening to their electorate by adjourning prematurely.

On Wednesday, February 1st Congress voted 216 - 214 to slash federal student aid to the tune of $12 billion dollars to pay for tax cuts for America’s wealthiest.. This horrendous cut to student loans, part of the budget reconciliation bill, is the largest cut in the history of the loan programs.

Re: "Analysis and Text of the Downing Street Memo" (6-18-05).

When the Watergate scandal was unfolding, our nation was
justifiably outraged. We were justifiably outraged that the Nixon
Administration was involved in the burglary of the offices of their
political opponents and attempting to cover up this crime.

I am an art graduate student who has been affected by the situation, even if it's not directly. Let me tell you what I know and witnessed.
