According to ESPN, The New York Mets agreed to a deal with the Minnesota Twins last Tuesday that would send ace Johan Santana to the Big Apple.

Now that baseball is no longer an Olympic sport, a new tournament has arisen in hopes of being established as the "World Cup" of baseball. The World Baseball Classic, which I'll shorten to "World Classic" in hopes of starting a new catch phrase, started last week and has somewhat erupted as a very popular tournament - world wide and in the United States.

It’s baseball season again. With a cancelled hockey season that might have shocked the imagination of many Ranger fans when they asked “could this get any worse?” (yes, it can) and a Knicks team that represents only the schizophrenic changes in the mood of Isiah Thomas, I’d like to join all New Yorkers in a giant sigh of relief when I say: Thank God it’s baseball season again.
