One of the California Pizza Kitchen's salads recently won the title of the unhealthiest salad in America. However, the CPK in the Roth Food Court at Stony Brook University does not sell this salad. The four salads at this campus dining location are significantly healthier than their sister and heavyweight champion, the Waldorf Chicken Salad.

New items have been popping up at Wendy’s in the Roth Quad Food Court for the past few weeks. However, the new items are not additions to the value menu or salad options. They are flies - tiny fruit flies, to be exact - and they are on every conceivable surface, from the counter to the menu boards to the ceilings and the walls.

Lackmann Culinary Services is providing new food options to students across campus in a new five-year contract. The company took over food services from Chartwells earlier this year.

Pepsi is king at Stony Brook, and it will continue to reign for the next 10 years. The university’s exclusive contract with the beverage company kicked off this summer, replacing Coca-Cola products in dining halls and 140 vending machines across the university.

“Carb-free!! Low Carb!! Atkins Friendly!!” Every day, I, along with millions of other people, am assaulted with these declarations, be it on television or on a food package in the Union. To be honest, it’s really starting to get on my nerves. Can people really be this stupid and gullible? Don’t they realize how unhealthy and potentially dangerous this diet is?!
