Robbery On Campus

On the early morning of Sept. 2nd, there was a robbery on campus.  A student walking towards Eisenhower College noticed that he was being followed by four males while walking on John S. Toll Drive.  They appeared to come from the Stadium side of the Student Union building.

When he got on the steps of the Graduate Physics building, one of the four grabbed him from behind, and the rest accosted him.

The four males demanded money from the student, which he gave them.  One grabbed his cell phone, and another said, ”hit him,” which they didn’t do.  The four of them ran off together towards the Student Union building.

The student said that the males took his Nextel phone and $15.  They all appeared to be their twenties.  Descriptions of each are:

1.
Tall, thin, white male with multiple piercing in his ear.  He had short hair and a baseball cap.

2.
Black male, average in height and build.  He had a light shirt and a shaved head.

3.
Indian-looking male, around 5’8”, with brown hair and a red t-shirt.

4.
White or Hispanic male, around 5’6”, wearing an oversize t-shirt and a baseball cap. HHHHe had light green eyes and long sideburns.

“[The suspects] seemed to have a knowledge of the campus,” said Doug Little, deputy chief of the University Police.  According to Little, that and their age indicated that they might be students.

Anyone with information about the above mentioned suspects should call 1-800-220-TIPS or the University Police at 632-3333.

Attempted Furniture Theft

On the late afternoon of Sept. 5th, two students were caught by the University Police carrying furniture on the Computer Science Center loading zone near Lake Drive.  They explained that they were bringing the furniture from the Computer Science Center to their dorm because they didn’t have any there.  The furniture was returned, and the students were referred to Student Affairs.
