Name: Amanda Marshall
Status: SBU Senior
Major: Theatre Arts

Amanda and I met at a Pocket Theatre meeting during our freshman year at Stony Brook. We were working on the same show, Touch; she was the costume designer and I was the prop master. We bonded over the everyday trials and tribulations of a college freshman. Not only did we bond through those Average Joe problems, we connected through theatre. Soon enough, our journeys landed us spots on the e-board for Pocket Theatre - Amanda as secretary and me as Treasurer.

But as much as we had bonded and found ways to relate to each other, we had our differences. Amanda is a really eclectic girl with so much to offer. She has spunk in any shape, color or form. I honestly love the outfits she is able to put together and what I love the most about her is the amount of confidence she has. Without confidence, clothes are nothing personal; it’s merely fabric bound together by threads.

Some outfits I adore on Amanda bring a lot of 80s funk, eclecticism, mod art and bohemian styles together. In one instance, she wore a black, purple and turquoise cotton maxi dress. The pattern on the dress created a very modern art, light futuristic feel. You can pair it with embellished flip-flops or sandals, or even with simple sandals from Old Navy (just make sure your outfit is appropriate). It’s such a wonderful outfit because it’s casual and sophisticated at the same time. The silhouette is amazing because it really accentuates the right amount of curves. LOVE IT!

Another one of my favorite outfits of Amanda’s is the wide-leg dark-washed jeans with a bright-colored design tee paired with a boho chic headband. I love this style because it’s a very dressed-down kind of outfit. It’s a very nice mix of everything. Wear this kind of outfit to lunch, to class, or even to the park. Sandals or flats can be worn with this outfit. It’s so versatile in dressing it up or dressing it down; the outfit can change depending on whether you wear sandals or flats, a cardigan or a sweatshirt.

Aside from the sophisticated and boho chic looks, Amanda looks fabulous in sweatpants and a basic tee with a hooded sweatshirt. Her choice in bright colors for clothes really puts an emphasis on her fun-loving personality.

Accessories are a must for Amanda Marshall. You will always see her wearing the peace symbol. Whether it be a ring, a bracelet, or a necklace, she is always with the peace. Look out for those really unique earrings. You’ll be surprised by where she gets them.

So if you ever see this girl on campus, definitely don’t hesitate to say 'hi.' She’s great!
