Knicks President Donnie Walsh is Quick to Give Fans Hope

ESPN reports that Isiah Thomas has been removed from his head coaching position within the New York Knicks organization and will remain in the organization in an "advisory role."

This coming after the Knicks have tied a franchise record with 59 loses this season. The Knicks have had seven straight losing seasons and apparently the chants of "Fire Isiah" were heard loud and clear by the new team president Donnie Walsh, the very guy who replaced Thomas as team president.

The Knicks have had seven straight seasons, this being the third that may yield them a lottery pick. The other two were traded away to Chicago for Eddy Curry. Other "notorious" moves made by Thomas included bringing point guard Stephon Marbury home to the Big Apple and acquiring the "questionable personality" of Zach Randolph.

Thomas also involved in a scandal in which former team executive Anucha Browne Sanders was awarded 11.6 million dollars on the grounds that she suffered sexual harassment from Madison Square Garden employees, including Thomas.

Thomas' coaching record in New York ends at 56 wins and 108 losses over two seasons. There are 5 NBA teams with at least 56 wins this season alone.

Among those said to be interviewing for the Head Coach position in the near future are former Knick players Herb Williams and Mark Jackson. Williams is currently the Knick Assistant Coach and Jackson a TV analyst.

Knicks fans can finally hope for something more than a 1st pick.
