60 Minutes Interviews Ahmadinejad
|
60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley interviews Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last week, preceding this week's visit to New York and a controversial visit to Columbia University. In the transcript, Ahmadinejad clearly avoids making any direct statement about Iranian support to Iraqi insurgents even in the face of persistent questioning. In the past, New York has been an odd place for international politics in the US because of the United Nations. People who you normally wouldn't think would want to see each other come face to face. Notable would be Nikita Kruschev's "we will bury you" speech and Hugo Chavez's more recent anti-American comments, so I'm interested to see what our "enemies" have to say this time around. But yeah, read the transcript-- it proves that political cunning is universal and that our politicians aren't the only ones good at not answering questions. |
