WUSB 90.1 FM, one of Long Island’s most popular non-commercial community radio stations, is set to kick off its annual fall Radiothon on October 18th, according to a press release issued this week. An annual staple for the station, The Radiothon will run through November 12th and will feature a number of music specials including a Salsathon and a Hip-Hop Marathon.

In addition to the various theme programs set into the station's schedule during the month-long event, WUSB will also be featuring two very special tributes in honor of two of rock music's most renown icons. On Monday, November 6th, WUSB will present its first-ever Robyn Hitchcock marathon, running from 2:30PM to 10PM, while on Friday, November 10th, the music of Elvis Costello will be presented between 2:30PM and 11:30PM.

The Radiothon is held twice annually by WUSB as a fundraising drive to help support the station. WUSB broadcasts on 90.1 FM, covering most of Suffolk and Nassau counties and southern Connecticut, and also broadcasts live on the web, at www.wusb.fm. WUSB is Long Island’s Pacifica Radio affiliate and has been a unique staple since 1977, programmed by Stony Brook University students and community volunteers.
