event module

I’ve been looking into the event module; since there are some obvious problems with it.

It looks like there are a number of replacement modules out there – but it seems to require wandering a bit off the beaten path with node patches and such.

Additionally, there was supposed to be a developer sprint on the module yesterday or the ady before, in preperation for the Developer conference today in Brussels.  And, it looks like the newest version in the CVS is one hour old, so — hopefully a new useable module will come out soon.  This current one is fairly intolerable.  We’re going to have to do something about it.
