Forty years ago I worked in New York. Andrew's article brought back the mornings of my youth. This is well crafted and beautifully written with all of my senses being engaged. Thank You - what a lovely journey!

Nicely written, Andy. I always read with a red pen at the ready and it never met paper. Your writing has alot of heart. I was born in Manhattan and have no memory of the first fourteen months of my life there, but there is something inside of me that belongs there. With no personal history to reference, you weave a tale that I can internalize as the setting of my entrance in this world. Keep writing.

Amy does a fantastic job at highlighting the horrors of traditional, beautiful Christmas music with rap. The two won't work and Bieber, someone who is sometimes called a musical genius - even though once he hits puberty that 'genius' will fade - should have realized that. Kudos to Amy for her sensational writing and perfect flowing language.

The thing to understand is that Susan's recorded voice isn't technically enhanced or aided. Here's her recent live performance of Autumn Leaves on Australia's Got Talent--see for yourself: http://youtu.be/azPcQfDVmoM

Great article! I haven't heard of the band, but would have loved to experience music being improvised right in front of me. I haven't been to Bowery yet, but have friends who are in a band that have played there before. Because of this article, I will definitely check out the band. They sound like interesting people and I'm always open to new music.
