"Now Open!"

Two different Starbucks posters have led to confusion about when Starbucks is opening.

President Shirley Strum Kenny has issued an update today at 1:30 PM on yesterday's alleged gunman incident, stating that the initial report given to UPD was "not accurate."

It's been a crazy week. Presidential-hopefuls butting heads, a NY Times article revealing the permanency of Facebook accounts, and a shooting at Northern Illinois University that killed five and wounded fifteen.

An attempted robbery occurred early today at Eisenhower College in Kelly Quad at 12:30 AM. An e-mail has been sent out to the campus body. There are no injuries.

"The e-mail has been sent out now and it's under investigation," said State University Police Officer V. Collela.

“The last time I addressed a group of journalism students, four of them showed up,” said Bobby Ghosh, jokingly, while staring out at an audience of well over four students.

Neon Bible, album art

Last Friday, I took the LIRR to Jamaica for an emergency visit to my dentist. On the train, I ran into Nicole Barry, an ex-Independent staffer—specifically, our ex-cooking columnist (don’t ask, it’s a long story). She showed me a couple of CDs she purchased for her brother—one of them was Neon Bible by Arcade Fire. The cover was a holographic red and blue book.
