The Vermont Catamounts saved face after a historically bad first half against the Boston University Terriers, where they shot 3.7% from the field (1-of-27), a record-low percentage for the America East tournament.

The previous record of 12.5% was set by the University of Albany—against the Catamounts.

After being down 32-6 at halftime, Vermont put up 32 points in the second half to eclipse the record-low of 30 for a tournament game.

“BU did a great job pressuring our guards and making us take quick shots,” said Vermont head coach Lori McBride. “They did a great job sagging inside and doubling our post play. And rebounding. When we don’t rebound, we struggle in every aspect of our game. “

As for BU, conference player of the year Chantell Alford recorded 24 points and 12 rebounds, while her teammate Rashidat Agboola cleaned up the offensive glass all game long (seven offensive rebounds).

The Terriers will face either No. 3 Binghamton or No. 6 New Hampshire on Sunday, at 11:04 a.m.
